Informal Technical Committee Update

7th April 2021

A convivial informal committee meeting today, catching up on members' activities and on standards in process.

Following 100% approval of the draft international standard, we are looking forward to the issue of ISO 44003 'Collaborative business relationship management - Guidelines for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises on the implementation of the fundamental principles' mid-month. ISO 44003 page.

Following work by the ISO editing team, the draft international standard ISO44004, ‘Guidance for large organisations seeking to engage MSMEs within their collaborative relationship programmes’ will shortly be despatched to international members for balloting.  We hope, if approved, this will be issued promptly, without needing to go through a 'final' draft international standard stage. ISO 44003 page.

The committee also pondered a future review of ISO 37500:2014 'Guidance on outsourcing' that has been inherited by the committee after the project committee PC259, that developed the original standard, was disbanded.  There may be scope for a 'principles of ...' document to assist understanding and adoption of the standard and/or its integration with the ISO44000 family of standards.
